BENEFITS FROM THE MERITS OF OTHERS

When we judge a person, we normally try to search only for his faults and demerits. But if instead, we look for his merits, we shall find him full of good qualities.

Every individual contains both good qualities and bad. It is up to us whether we want to reap benefits of their unique virtues or suffer by inviting their bad and harmful vices. Even our physical body is comprised of some beautiful and some ugly parts. Just as we cover our ugly parts and try to camouflage them, just so we must conceal and overlook the faults of others.

We should try to discover the useful traits in life; we should adopt and retain them in order to be happy. We should also learn lessons from the faults we encounter and try to rectify them and prove ourselves as wise and careful. A smart person is one who considers even the adversities and afflictions as sacred and auspicious and converts them into opportunities.
