Why man is unhappy

The great Rishis have been using, the heart of the Himalayas, as their abode. Living in their subtle bodies they have been guiding persons all over the world, who wanted to evolve themselves spiritually. From time immemorial, many known personalities of our world, serving the mankind have got their spiritual guidance from these great souls. Madame Blavatsky, Paul Brunton, Yogananda Paramahansa, Swami Rama, Pilot Baba and the great Acharya Shriram Sharma, to name a few speak highly of them in their memoirs. Historians say Jesus Christ spent twelve years in the Himalayas before gaving the Rock Sermon to the mankind.
In Indian scriptures the Rishis are highly regarded. the great nature-friendly souls, who are the highest spiritually evolved divine personalities. Their subtle bodies are so developed that they can exist & keep guiding even after shedding the mortal bodies.
The Rishis have explained in holy books & scriptures that the cause of human grief is three fold. one is Ignorance , the second is Weakness and the third is Wants. Persons who dispel these causes to the extent in their lives, have become happy to that extent.
In a man’s life, due to Ignorance, the vision gets distorted. In absence of true knowledge his thinking becomes aberrant and his deeds extremely wicked. Sliding down the slippery path of misdeeds he gets trapped in more & more problems and becomes very unhappy. Selfish motives, sensual enjoyments, greed, lack of empathy and anger generate such thoughts in him which make him ignore his duties towards himself, his family, the community, the nation & the mankind. He keeps his foresight aside & is enchanted by the mean and lowly thoughts that though lasts for a moment, persuades him to indulge in wrong deeds. Thus his thoughts & deeds become so sinful! And the sin always gives rise to grief! Due to ignorance man fails to understand the driving forces for different worldly actions taken by him & others. As a result he creates impossible expectations, desires, imaginations in his mind. Due to this inverse outlook common things appears as most sorrowful and he starts becoming so miserable falling in to frenzy. Death in the family, breaking of family, financial crunch, diverse interests of companions, rise & fall of the situations are all normal, but the ignorant wants everything that happens in his life must conform to his wishes. For him adverse situations should never happen! When things happen opposite to this impossible hope, he is very upset.
Mistakes are many and they occur without anybody planning them but due to them man is deprived of available means which becomes the causes of unhappiness too.
Powerlessness is in nothing but Weakness. Weakness of the body, the mind, the society, the intellect & the soul makes it impossible for the man to carry out his natural responsibilities. Thus he lives in deprivation. When the health is poor, diseases are rampant, the tasty foods, young beauties, sweet music, literature, poetry, philosophies, meditation & contemplation can not be relished. All of them become tasteless. The enjoyment from money is no more attractive. The intellectual weakness, can not give him entertainment from literature, poetry, philosophy, meditation & contemplation. The weakness of the soul will further him from the company of sages, love, devotion etc.
The nature has a law to weed out the weak to protect the best. A weakling falls prey to that. So many situations arise to trouble & eliminate the weak. Even innocent, good and simple elements appear as his adversaries. The cold climate makes the strong, stronger, gives pleasure to pleasure seekers, but give pneumonia & arthritis to the weak. The elements which are fatal for the weak, are helpful for the strong. Where as the poor deer is easily killed & devoured, the strong lion is called the king of the forest & is regarded as a symbol of power. The powerless, are always troubled, even the right elements do not come to their help.
The sorrow from Want is lack of means in life. In want of food, clothing, water, house, domestic animals in some countries, land, helping hands, friends, wealth, medicines, books, arms & ammunition & teachers etc. man faces problems & innumerable difficulties. He has to forgo the justified needs and live in desperation while the most important moments of life are being wasted like dust. Even a qualified & capable person in absence of means is crippled and unhappy.
Gayatri is, in fact the great Kamadhenu, the divine sacred cow who fulfills mankind’s justified wishes. Those who worship Her, adore Her & emotionally connected to Her drink the nectar like milk of the mother and rid themselves of the three sorrows viz, ignorance, weakness and wants. Thus they get their wishes fulfilled so easily.
