Jesus always used to be surrounded by criminals, bandits and unhappy people. He sat, sleep and even eat with them.
Once He went to a very undeveloped and wretched town of criminals. After talking to them the whole day he sat down with the locals to have his supper. An opposer of his mission happened to pass by, he saw this, distorted his face and taunted one of Jesus’ followers, ” Your mentor, whom you call a pure soul and the God’s son, is sitting amongst the downtrodden and dirty people. How do you expect us to respect and honor him?”
Jesus overheard this and humbly replied, ” Brother! Only a patient needs a doctor, and only sinners need to be taught religion and morals. Healthy, happy and already pious people do not need any help. I want to guide the ones who have deviated from the path of truth and honesty rather than those who already know their religion well. And this can be done only by living with them.”
