Fulfillment of duties

Once Jesus was invited to attend a conference. He was requested to express his spiritual notions and ideas and solve the audience’s queries. On the decided day Jesus reached the conference hall and was about to climb the podium when he sighted a person wailing due to some excruciating pain in his arm. Jesus immediately retreated and walked towards this man and started treating him for his ailment. The audience started objecting and taunting Him, ” You have come here to preach us, not to treat the patients.”
Jesus calmly replied, ” Is there anyone amongst you who would not react if your only sheep would fall into a well? Won’t you leave all your work and try to extract your valuable and charming sheep out of the well?”
He further added, ” My primary duty is to serve the society, to ward off people’s sadness and obscurity. Preachings and teachings are only secondary.”
