Once a King had four ministers. Of them, first three were always busy in King’s flattery and cajolery whereas the fourth was wise, farsighted, straight forward and a little blunt. The King ruled the kingdom successfully for many years. His ministers always guided and assisted him.
Unfortunately the King got a fatal disease which eventually took his life despite the relentless medication of the regal Vaidya (Doctor). The King was very humble and wise, hence, the entire kingdom got grieved by their beloved ruler’s demise.
All the four ministers thought of building a monument in the memory of the king from their own purse. The first minister got the building made with expensive and rare marble stone. The second minister got valuable gems and stones engraved on its walls. The third minister lit lamps made of gold inside the monument. The fourth minister, who was famous for his prudence and loyalty towards his master cultivated a beautiful garden around the monument. The first three ministers mocked at him for being a miser, but he replied back only with a humble grin on his lips.
Few days later, the monument got robbed of its valuables, whereas the beautiful garden bore lovely flowers and juicy fruits. It provided a living to several gardeners and their families and was a shelter to many passers by.
Friends! Loyalty and devotion do not need exorbitant donations, rather, these can be expressed by mere gestures and deeds which can pleasant enough.
