Once a thunderstorm was blasting the earth. Strong and harsh winds started blowing, sweeping away everything along with them. Particles of sand which used to crib lying on the ground also got swept away. They reached the sky and started boasting about the new abode. Sand said, ” No one can reach me now. I am at a higher and better position than all others. Water, Land, Sky- all are smeared with me.”The clouds heard this bragging. They mocked at the sand’s misconception and arrogance and started pouring water heavily. Within minutes the sand got washed away from everywhere. Even the sky discarded it. While the sand was floating away, the land asked the sand, “Sister! Did you learn anything from your ascent and descent? ” The sand replied, “Yes my dear, I have learned that one must not be egotistical about one’s success and development because ego and arrogance leads to our own downfall.”
