Family-An institution of Learning

It was a tall mountain, full of boulders, large & small and the path was winding. The saint was walking alone with the help of a stick. A pair of rough supples was neither aiding nor comforting in his journey. He had quite a load on his shoulder to carry to his hermitage. The walk was wearsome for him. He had to cross this mountain to reach the beautiful valley which has an ever flowing stream.

And a girl of ten years over took him on the path. She was panting under her load. A tiny thing but a determined girl, every step she took was so securely put. She was carrying a two years old boy in her lap, her brother of course. Her breath was ranting under the strain of climbing.

The Saint could not stop himself from observing, “Child how will you climb the terrain with such a heavy burden on you?” he asked. The girl replied instantly, “Sir it is not a burden, but he is my bro(brother)!
The Saint understood, where love is in the feelings, no work is difficult nor wearsome. Otherwise a life, minus the feelings is no doubt, burdensome. The real love in a family is found only when the source of the devotion & feeling comes from the our inner core of the members. The woman works in the house doing repititive jobs day in and day out, out of love, with only one feeling, to make the family happy. The family is an institution of learning and we must give it, its due recognition.
