Forget the painful past

Once upon a time, two brothers lived in a family. They loved each other very much and looked after their family business. Their business was fast progressing and both were very happy with this but destiny had something else in store for them. Things took an ugly turn and both the brothers separated their ways. The elder brother seemed to have a big ego hassle. Hence, he could not take some wrong words thrown at him by his younger sibling. So, he left the house. The younger brother, upon realizing his fault, went to cajole his elder brother back home but he did not relent.

Years passed by and the wedding of the daughter of the younger brother got fixed. He again went to coax and convince his elder brother to attend the wedding but he again he was insulted and sent back. The younger brother became very sad. Some of his friends suggested that he should visit the Saint whom the elder one frequents every month. The Great Saint might prove helpful. Obeying his friends’ advice he visited the Saint and implored him to convince his brother.
Next day when the elder brother came, the Saint asked him to explain the whole scenario. After hearing the painful story, the Saint asked him,” Tell me what did I preach you last month.” He could not tell clearly as he had forgotten most of the things that were said. The Saint now said, ” Son! When you don’t remember what I taught you last month then how can you store the unpleasant words thrown by your brother years back, in your heart?” The elder brother had a thorough eyewash and he rushed to his brother’s house and did whatever was possible for the wedding preparations with full responsibility.

Friends! Unpleasant contexts are best forgotten.
